Without the publicity, it would have been a slam dunk guilty case. Then again, without the publicity, it would have been swept under the carpet and forgotten. I guess the publicity was a double edged sword.
But with so many conservatives staking their reputation on this case, anything could have happened.
No she was not. She was an alternate juror. If one of the main jurors had been dismissed after the trial started, she would have taken the dismissed juror's place. She heard the trial like a juror, but was left out of the deliberation, because they already had enough jurors.
They could not dismiss her until they dismissed all the regular jurors. If they had dismissed her, and one of the regular jurors were disqualified, then it would be a real mess.
The 12 regular jurors have decided that Chauvin is guilty. If the defense had any doubts about that, they could have polled the jury. They did not, because they knew that the jury found him guilty. And at least one of the alternate jurors who sat with the jury and saw all the same evidence agrees.

No, no, no... They would never do that. It is not unheard of for a juror to be dismissed during deliberation. If you dismiss your alternates before deliberation, you can not replace a juror dismissed during deliberation.
She was actually sequestered for deliberation... Without even getting to deliberate. My guess is she just read a book in some waiting room, while the regular jurors deliberated, and then at night went back to the motel with the other jurors.
