No need to go Draconian on the others.
Suspended sentences with probation will probably be the deal made.

Probably. I may have heard that and then forgotten. But I would certainly suspect so.

I think Chauvin should have been charged with manslaughter.

Floyd was a criminal and drug addict that died in no small part due to his own choices. In fact, if he wasn’t on drugs he’d still be alive. If he simply obeyed the cops he’d still be alive.

I think a counterfeit stamp would be a nice touch

maybe, but Waters, and Bidens inciting remarks cannot go unpunished. The jury was scared shitless, as was the judge, the cops, and everyone else. Verdict by intimidation is not the way our system works. Having said that, I do think Chauvin was guilty and should be put in jail for a long time. But this crap of trying to influence "justice" must also be punished. The cops who stood by and did nothing are also guilty.

But, a question, would Floyd have died anyway from the drugs and his heart condition if he had not resisted arrest? We will never know, but its a valid question.

Not a valid question. This argument by defense was refuted by hours of testimony.

That seems to be the general consensus. After this verdict, they'll rush for a deal.

Still, I don't know if they will face much jail time. They were subordinates who actually tried to do the right thing on more than one occasion. It was Chauvin who tortured Floyd both with strangulation and with joint manipulation.

yes, and some of the doctors testified that Floyd probably would have died due to his drug use even if the confrontation never happened. Also, if he had not resisted arrest he would probably be alive today.

He did not resist arrest at any point. Nevertheless, you cannot make the argument that he was resisting at any point during the 9 minute torture.
