I think manslaughter is something that they would agree to in order to have a guilty verdict after disagreement on the other charges. It could be argued that he didn't intend to murder Floyd, but he was negligent nonetheless.
I tend to agree with you about the actual outcome, but the truth is they could find for 2nd degree.

After they burned down L.A, they got the King trial right. Or was that just a civil case? Garner never made it past a racist local grand jury. Philando Castille was another that never made it to a fair trial. White jury. That was a travesty. That might have set the stage for this Minnesota trial.
