Well, education is a different thing than being informed on events. Higher education is its own can of worms.

Both left and right have their bubbles but the left bubble is much larger and dominates much of the media and virtually all of Big Tech. Consequently, it’s much easier for lefties to not leave their bubble; in contrast, righties can’t escape the left bubble—they get exposed to the left bubble whether they want to be or not.

The left also has a small army of ‘fact checkers’ that are little more than ‘fact massagers’ with a partisan slant.

Bottom line, it’s very easy for lefties to be misinformed or under informed.

Yup, America First basically boils down to common sense.

A trait that is sorely missing from so many of our Ivy League leaders.

It's clearly visible where this shit starts. Just look at the universities, they protest and shun speakers they don't agree with. So much for the 1st. Amendment. Is the 2nd. Amendment next?
Common sense is not a gift, it's a punishment because you have to deal with everyone who doesn't have it.

Fair enough. I was thinking a totally different perspective. For example, I hate communism but have no issue with people reading Marx to understand it. I do not agree or support Ibram Kendi or Robin DiAngelo but have no issue with people reading their work to understand the positions they advocate (and be able to argue against them). As I understood Hawkeyes claim one would be considered uneducated to read those works because they are the wrong people. I disagree with that.

The left has utterly forsaken free speech, as a principle. And they won’t stop whining about guns until they can confiscate them.

The left isn't a monolith with universally held opinions.
That would more accurately describe the right.

We also believe in free speech.
We simply understand that it prevents you from being arrested for expressing your opinions, not guarantees you access to somebody else's forum.

What can be comfortably said about the left as compared to the right is that we're not generally afflicted with anti-intellectualism.
The latter virtually defines the right.

They know there's too many gun owners who are responsible, yet not afraid to defend them. We are who they want to disarm. Criminals aren't a concern. They help push their agenda.

To be honest, if I had the choice of depriving you of your first or second amendment rights, I'd go for the former.

I'm not worried about your guns. I'm just sick of hearing your bullshit.

Read my above post. You already are depriving us at universities. Wasn't it you who said "We simply understand that it prevents you from being arrested for expressing your opinions, not guarantees you access to somebody else's forum." Are universities "somebody else's forum," meaning the progressive forum for harassment?

Amen. They have created strawman positions on multiple issues, and they scream at the sky over those imaginary positions:

'The libs are going to confiscate all our guns'. No we aren't.
'The libs want open borders and free healthcare for illegal aliens' No we don't.
'The libs think there are 56 different genders' No we don't.
'The libs all support pedophilia and child sex trafficking' No we don't. None of us do.
'The libs want to murder babies' No we don't.
'The libs want millions of illegal aliens to vote' No we don't.

They are allowed to continue blathering about this utter bullshit instead of discussing issues. But I guess we can't stop them.

it boils down to patriotic common sense -not some weird globalist agenda like Biden's open borders

bingo. "as a principle" open and free speech is "the American way" (beyond simple 1st amendment protections)

Now the platforms -who are the equivalent of the 'public square' cancel you out if you dont parrot their agenda

Public universities should not be censoring free speech. There is no question that it goes on way too often. But it also pales in comparison to the attacks on the free press from the right. I'm happy to condemn both. I'm guessing you aren't.

    Private ones definitely are.
Public ones can be a discussion.
But even with private ones, the right has theirs as well.

It's all he is. Nothing more.
