Maybe I’m viewing his question differently. He’s basing if one is educated by who they listen to. To me, an educated person (whether educated in a university or not) can read and learn from a wide variety of sources. Being exposed to new ideas and thoughts is a positive thing and to me is a cause of growth.

Well, education is a different thing than being informed on events. Higher education is its own can of worms.

Both left and right have their bubbles but the left bubble is much larger and dominates much of the media and virtually all of Big Tech. Consequently, it’s much easier for lefties to not leave their bubble; in contrast, righties can’t escape the left bubble—they get exposed to the left bubble whether they want to be or not.

The left also has a small army of ‘fact checkers’ that are little more than ‘fact massagers’ with a partisan slant.

Bottom line, it’s very easy for lefties to be misinformed or under informed.

Fair enough. I was thinking a totally different perspective. For example, I hate communism but have no issue with people reading Marx to understand it. I do not agree or support Ibram Kendi or Robin DiAngelo but have no issue with people reading their work to understand the positions they advocate (and be able to argue against them). As I understood Hawkeyes claim one would be considered uneducated to read those works because they are the wrong people. I disagree with that.

We also believe in free speech.
We simply understand that it prevents you from being arrested for expressing your opinions, not guarantees you access to somebody else's forum.

What can be comfortably said about the left as compared to the right is that we're not generally afflicted with anti-intellectualism.

Public universities should not be censoring free speech. There is no question that it goes on way too often. But it also pales in comparison to the attacks on the free press from the right. I'm happy to condemn both. I'm guessing you aren't.
