Yes, and correct me if I’m wrong but once the case goes to jury the jury can make their decision for any reason or no reason as long as the decision is unanimous.

Really? You didn't care about what he did?

He made it tougher for all police, imo. That's a video for how police should NEVER act. That cop in MN last week made a tragic mistake, but she won't be treated with objectivity for that because of what he did.

I think it's kind of astounding that you don't care either way.

In truth I think BOTH parties involved are/were a couple of idiots. One idiots life is over because of his consistent track record of criminality and idiocy,....the other idiots life is about to be ruined. Thats right.....it doesnt matter to me.

    I fear that

I can’t help but think it was reckless endangerment

To keep pressing a knee on a man with other people still holding him down and he stopped breathing for over two minutes before is evil

He should get at least they 3rd

You don’t FEAR someone who’s not breathing

I think it’s far more complicated then that. Most of the public have only seen the cell phone recordings of by standers. With those and the police vest cameras paints a more complete picture.

From what I saw of the video evidence today Chauvin did nothing unreasonable until Floyd lost consciousness.

Agree. Chauvin had Floyd subdued and persisted even after a fellow officer said Floyd had no pulse.

Police have the position of authority. That guy didn't deserve a death sentence, no matter what his life choices.

The EMT had to ask him to get off the man because he was already dead

No, actually the video evidence and the evidence recorded by dispatch showed pretty clearly Chauvin wasn’t being wreckless.

However it didn’t show that he wasn’t culpably negligent.

    That's fair.

I have great empathy for the position of police in this big "debate" the nation is having right now. I thought the cop in MN last week was put in a terrible position. The issue I have is with what happened prior to her action - but I think her action was a tragic mistake that resulted from police overreaction leading up to it.

I think the healthy side of the big debate is talking about what the police should really be doing. Do we need 3 cops to approach a car over a registration, or even an outstanding warrant? Sometimes, it seems like we're creating situations where one bad move could result in tragedy, when it's not necessary.

That’s true and that was negligent of Chauvin but that’s not the same as being wreckless.

It's the definition of being reckless.

    He was obviously dead

The EMT knew it by looking at him and told chauvin to get off

He had not breathed or moved for over two minutes

That means chauvin should have been giving him CPR. Instead of trying to make sure he wouldn’t make it

    It’s his sworn duty

with the exception that there is this thing called judgment notwithstanding the verdict (to be honest I don't remember if that applies outside civil law and I am too lazy to look).......if a judge believes the jury is out of whack with what they reasonably could decide he can void the verdict.......
