He was trained in CPR and when it’s needed
He recklessly endangered Floyd’s life by not rendering immediate aid as trained
To your last point the challenge is there are videos of cops being attacked, and even killed, in seemingly 'regular' encounters and those incidents are used as justification for why more than one cop can be present in different situations.
I don't pretend to have all the answers here, it's not easy.
There is no way she made that mistake
Muscle memory along would prevent that mistake
I think it’s was a plan by racists to get a free kill and get off
There are racist groups in our police folks
And in the military
A plan to get trained and secure power and access to arms

Well I think the cop in Minneapolis who accidentally shot and killed a man did the appropriate thing for a professional who F’d up that badly. She resigned and I’m assuming she did so knowing she’ll never wear a badge again. Criminal charges aside.
As I see it we have two significant problems with law enforcement in our country. Training and militarization.
The later is extremely concerning as the mission of police officers vs soldiers are completely different and are probably playing a role in excessive use of force.
Training is another serious issue. I think police training is inadequate. To gain professional licensing I had to earn a degree in a subject matter related field, had to obtain three years of full time on the job training, had to pass a rigorous and comprehensive examination, not to mention annual continuing education and training requirements, I have to meet recertification requirements every five years.
I think given the enormous role police officers play in public safety that some similar sort of National Standards for licensing/ certification of police officers would be a common sense solution as we currently have none. Where I live a clean record, a high school education and 12 weeks of police academy are all that’s required. I find that wholly inadequate.

Hope you feel better.
Thanks for the analysis/observations. Had wondered why 1st degree manslaughter wasn't included; your links were helpful in answering that. I have to agree that manslaughter is the most likely outcome. What do you think the sentence will be, given that he is a first time offender?
