Downtown Pittsburgh, colloquially referred to as the Golden Triangle, and officially the Central Business District,[2] is the urban downtown center of Pittsburgh.
You need to get out more, the Golden Triangle is where Burma, Laos and Thailand meet. It was coined by the CIA I believe during the Vietnam War. It's a beautiful part of the world and I love Chiangrai, very peaceful but too many mosquitos this time of year! They don't grow opium in Thailand anymore it mostly grown in the Shan state area of Burma and some in Laos. It pales into insignificance compared to Afghanistan though, it will be a bumper crop this year now that the West has washed its hands yet again.

I didn't see this thread, but had been holding out hope that this time justice would prevail.

    Glad to see it has.

    The nation is relieved.

Although, I sadly expect instances of racism to spike for a while after this.

America needs to face the sad truth that we have been racist from before we even formed our nation. We fought a war over it, and for a while after the war things began to look very good. But the old guilt and resentment couldn't just vanish, and the next generation after the war brought it all back again in more insidious ways.

We have been fighting this war of morals ever since.

The election of a black president resulted in a peak of resentment and an explosion of participation in hate groups.

That hatred made it possible for Trump to get elected.

And now that he has been thrown out, the racists are fuming.

They should know that peace and serenity lies in being true to themselves, admitting the mistake of racism to themselves, and changing their ways.

We can have a truly great nation when we stop hating fellow Americans because they look different or have different backgrounds.

    Diversity makes America great.

If you are a racist and you are reading this, I feel for you. Changing a way of life that has been a part of oneself all through life cannot be easy. It will involve being bold, going against what your racist friends believe, possibly having them turn on you because you changed your mind. Very difficult indeed. Almost unthinkable.

But you would be doing the right thing. You would find that you can make new friends, better friends. And maybe some of your old friends want to change too, but they are afraid you will cut them off if they do. Maybe the way to begin is to talk about it.

Whether or not you have to leave friends behind, or even alienate some family members, you should know you would be doing the right thing and that peace of mind and serenity will ensue.

Finally, you will feel truly justified in holding your new views. You can make a new better life with more love. A life without hated. It's all waiting for you.

There is no reason to cut it off with anyone, unless they choose to do that. There is no reason to be angry at racists. They are only doing what they truly think is right. They are simply wrong, making a grand mistake. It's OK. People make mistakes. Big ones and little ones. People are only human.

Once a mistake is righted, a lesson is learned. That is the pathway to wisdom and loving life. It is a pathway to feeling like a truly contributing part of this fantastic multi-colored nation. America is inclusive, not exclusive. And we are better for it. Diversity is what truly makes us great. And it is wonderful to be a part of that.

    I dare you.
