I saw a video of a former ballerina who was suffering with Alzheimer's. She was wheelchair-bound but could still recreate her hand movements from Swan Lake when the music was played.

Ah how lovely and bittersweet. "My" dementia residents loved music from their youth, as well as Christmas songs. It was a locked unit. It pissed me off that when various churches would have carolers come at Christmas time, no one outside of the unit thought to invite them in for our folks. I saw them out there one day and shanghaied them. It was almost supper time so everyone was up and awake. Oh how they loved that! Even the nonverbal folks would rock or clap their hands in time.
