Communities shouldn't depend on traffic stops for revenue but they do.

The founders did not give the national government nearly enough control over states and local governments.
We have many red states in particular that are hard pressed to find people who could run a yard sale, much less a government.

If we're not going to partition, we're just going to have to let Massachusetts, New York, and California run everything.
They seem to have a monopoly on the capable people.

If traffic duties are left to officers who have ONLY the authority to issue traffic citations, somebody with a quarter million dollars worth of coke in the trunk is less likely to shoot the cop,
and the cop is less likely to shoot the driver out of fear of being shot himself.

Here's the problem.
Most traffic stops may require only citations,
but some involve arrests for more serious offenses.

That's why they have fully authorized cops do it.

The founders did not give the national government nearly enough control over states and local governments.


And because you are an uninformed dimwit and/or alien ideologue, you should be made to reveal just how evil and/or uninformed you are.

There, fixed it for you. The number one generator of revenue from traffic tickets based on the classic "speed trap" is using cameras. Democrats and Progressives love traffic cameras for ticketing people.

In the Middle East they have lots of traffic circles like Europe, but the direction of travel is optional, particularly in Saudi. Saudi's are some of the worst drivers I've ever seen anywhere...

Only a very petty puppy would become upset about such things. Most likely it's because you are just running from Gardner's points.

Liberal idiots think unarmed "traffic only" police would simply be meter maids but that's a pipe dream not to mention fucking stupid.

Like most things liberals don't like, the solution to this problem is simply enforcement of present laws.

While there's a lot to be said for independent "laboratories of democracy" there's also a lot to be said about "reinventing the wheel". States, with Feds acting as coordinators, should organize themselves to save costs on training, equipment and oversight.

Politalker mentioned about bad officers rotating through departments like pedophile priests. That can be stopped with a national database and mutual agreements between the states. It is in the best interests of every city, county and state to avoid shooting unarmed citizens.

Fix the system where it's broken. Don't reinvent the wheel.

Nifty lives in a fantasy America. There is no need to partition. That idea comes from the mistaken notion that every state is either "red or blue." That simply is not true, and people would never leave their homes to fulfill his dream.

Speaking of cameras, a couple of years ago, I got a $135 ticket, by mail, for doing 31 miles per hour in a 30 m.p.h. zone.
