This is becoming more and more of a problem nation wide as more Officers are retiring due to poor treatment by the city's they work for and the public's hostility , less recruitment success and more openings for trained high level security for executives and the wealthy. Not to mention democrats de funding the police which results in poorer training .

As you can see crime is indeed spiking , what do democrats think social workers are going to do about it and how will defending the police help this ?
It will not, it will only make the situation worsen and result in more crime and death.

It will result in fewer police shootings and abuse by them. The idea is to have professionals who can defuse a situation instead of cops who naturally use force.
Who would want to be a policeman in these times? I applaud those who are sticking with it.

I agree.
People are going way too far on this issue, and making it too black & white - literally and figuratively.
Being a cop is a tough job. They put their lives on the line every day, and are put in situations where they have to make split-second decisions. I'm seeing less & less empathy for that.
All of these situations in the news are tragic, but most are tragic all the way around. The cop in MN the other day - by all appearances - made a tragic mistake. I think we're making a mistake when we try to conflate that w/ what happened to George Floyd. These are all unique circumstances, and deserve more thorough consideration than just being lumped in together as "bad police."

5/10 bait.

The terrible incidents are the ones we know because they hit the press. Chauvin had 18 bad marks on his record, some very violent. How many more that he get away with? Cops have bad press because they earned it. Cops are the 22nd most dangerous jobs. https://www.ishn.com/articles/112748...-united-states They are working for each other. You just pay their salaries. https://medium.com/@OfcrACab/confess...p-bb14d17bc759
