The people were the militia and the army that defended the country. That is no longer the case. Now we kill each other at a terrible rate diminishing to some degree the quality of life in America. We have 3/4s of the mass killing on the planet. We have kids shooting kids. We have active shooter drills in schools. It does not have to be this way.

It's probably not surprising (assuming you really are a 2nd amendment advocate and not just having fun) in today's highly tribalized and partisan world that someone on the left who supports guns and the 2nd amendment is not considered a real liberal. (and similar issues exist on the right) Tribalism can be a b*tch.

Being a liberal doesn’t necessarily mean one has a grasp of the issue, either. Or a knowledge of the law regarding the 2nd. Or the origins and intent.
