At least 4 Michigan Republicans test positive for COVID-19 after restaurant meeting: ‘Most of them in that room are not believers in the vaccine’

At least four, and potentially more than eight, Michigan Republicans who attended a district meeting at a Portage restaurant on March 25 tested positive for COVID-19 afterward, according to GOP officials.

Jason Watts, an Allegan County Republican and the treasurer for the 6th District Republican Committee, has been in the hospital for five days. He tested positive for COVID-19 on April 1 and is certain he was exposed to the virus at the regular meeting of the district organization, he said in a Tuesday phone interview from a hospital room in Grand Rapids.

“This meeting is what’s happening in a lot of districts,” Watts said. “They’re not following the guidelines. I would say, at most, that room should have had 40 people there."

Actually it appears the un American repuke gerrymandered insurrectionist and proud butt buddy as.holes who are too stupid to realize, repukes are not real Americans but all that is anti American and anti humanity, and to which this article demonstrates that the poison tRump lawlessly hacked atrocity has caused the repuke party of filth, rot and atrocities to become a super spreader and a public and even global health hazard. This in violation of all core values of America and anything else of a civilized nature on Earth.

i wonder how these goons believe we have eliminated other infectious diseases, almost completely, in this country? by ignoring them?

    The six diseases:

    1. Smallpox: The U.S. announced smallpox eradicated in 1972. Less than a decade later, it became the first and only disease eliminated worldwide.

    2. Polio: A polio vaccine was unveiled in 1955, and the disease was declared eliminated by 1979.

    3. Diphtheria: People first received the vaccine in the 1920s, and the CDC reported less than five cases in the U.S. over the past decade.

    4. Mumps: Only a few hundred people in the U.S. contract the disease every year, thanks to a vaccine introduced in 1967.

    5. Measles: The CDC recently warned the U.S. could lose its elimination status if the country's current outbreak continues through the fall.

    6. Rubella: Vaccines were first introduced in the 1960s, and the World Health Organization declared rubella eliminated from the Americas in 2015.

Yes, indeed. That's a run-on sentence, for sure. (I wonder how many here still remember how to diagram a sentence?)

Very true...It surely was a "thing" when I was growing up. I spent my entire 5th grade year diagramming sentences

Not a smart thing to do now that Michigan is a hot spot for rising cases. Of course, if they were smart they wouldn't be RepubliQans.

Ah yes. The "teacher" (hahaha) has nothing intelligent to say about the OP. She's only here to bash other members, as usual. Poor thing. She's not well.

Why can’t Michigan get it together?

Maybe FL can loan them DeSantis for a couple weeks.

    LOL! No thank you.

Most of our rising case load is with the "kids" -- ppl under age 30, mostly 10-19 yo. Thankfully hospitalizations are not keeping pace with confirmed cases, probably due to the younger age of patients and the fact that most of us geezers are vaccinated.

    Good lol.

Between vaccinating the at risk population and the youngsters passing it around—that’s a recipe for herd immunity.
