Default President Biden Upholds USA's Word To End Aghan War

US troop pullout will leave behind an uncertain Afghanistan

    By KATHY GANNON

"ISLAMABAD (AP) — The Biden administration’s surprise announcement of an unconditional troop withdrawal from Afghanistan by Sept. 11 appears to strip the Taliban and the Afghan government of considerable leverage and could ramp up pressure on them to reach a peace deal.

The Taliban and Afghan government can no longer hold the U.S. hostage — the Taliban with escalating violence and the Afghan president with dragging his feet on a power-sharing deal with the insurgents that doesn’t include him as president — because Washington made it clear that U.S. troops are leaving, no matter what.

Still, there are growing fears that Afghanistan will collapse into worsening chaos, brutal civil war, or even a takeover by the Taliban once the Americans are gone — opening a new chapter in the constant war that has lasted for decades.

How can you fall for such blatant propaganda? Trump had a plan and it was executed to have all troops out by may 1st. Joe Biden kicked the can down the road to "911" for a 20th year anniversary date for some odd reason.

The headlines should have read "joe biden delays previous administrations plan to remove troops from Afghanistan" I sure hope he keeps his word and does not kick the can further down the road.

But these "Accolades" for not meeting the set deadline is just fake news propaganda.

This is a more accurate story:

We signed an agreement to be out by the 1st of may.

I think the west in general should spend very considerable sums on rescuing Afghan women in vast numbers. Otherwise, the choice between corruption and fanaticism should have been left well alone long since.

    Totally agreed.

The women of Afghanistan have made great advances, gaining new rights. Is that all to be lost?

But it should be noted that the Taliban has been considerably weakened.

    The future is quite unclear.

I would totally favor allowing any Afghan woman to migrate to the USA for fear of religious and political persecution.

I have to wonder how many generations Afghanistan could survive without any women?

And once again we see Trump supporters contradict themselves.

Oh, first it was a good thing - Because Trump ordered it.

But now that President Biden is making good on the word of our nation, no matter who the leader was that ordered it, Oh, now the Republicans are against it.

    Go figger.

McConnell thinks we should stay in the Afghan War.

But he didn't explain what the objective should be.

McConnell should send his grandkids then to fight the war of choice.

I can't speak for trump supporters but my position is that biden didn't announce a withdrawal as the media lied, he failed to meet an agreed and signed deadline and withdrawal date of may 1st and instead decided sept 11th.

Why? no one seems to be able to answer it.

Let regional nations deal with this issue. we are not the worlds police force and if we were to defend human rights in other countries we should start with china.

Pakistan is a nuclear power and Afghanistan terrorists will try to exploit that.

I guess the generals wanted more time. I can only guess as to why that happened that way.

We are not powerful enough to be telling China what to do.

And we are inextricably linked economically.
