it's never been a problem in most dallas/fort worth gun shows...........private people are allowed to walk around with their own weapons that they may want to sell. If a venue starts to deny that around here, that gun show is going to go under quickly

People generally are not walking around with their guns here (Indiana); they display them from their tables/booths/kiosks, all of which had the so-called "instant background check" gadgets.
PAID DISPLAYERS. So, in Dallas/FW, folks walk in their own guns w/o even renting a space to do business at the show, and sell??

there's an entry fee for every visitor. there's an entry fee for every dealer. what i've seen in the few shows i've been to is both dealers at tables and private citizens walking around with an AR slung over their shoulder and a flag up in the barrel with a price on the flag.....

DEALERS ARE REQUIRED TO SHOW FFLs; VISITORS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO SELL INSIDE THE VENUES...ALMOST EVERYWHERE, EXCEPT TO DEALERS REGISTERED WITH THE EVENT.
I HAVE BEEN A PART OF MORE THAN A COUPLE GUN SHOWs.
THE VENUE and PROMOTERS DO NOT ALLOW SALES BY PEOPLE WHO DIDN'T PAY THE FEE TO DO SO....

The PA Sportsman's Show in Harrisburg, one of the largest gun shows in the Northeast, sponsored by the NRA, will not allow ANY firearms to be sold on the property (PA. Farm Show complex). NO EXCEPTIONS!
Every transaction must go through the purchaser's local gun shop or an authorized gun dealer. The seller sends the firearm to the local dealer who will do the background check and then give it to the purchaser.
Common sense is not a gift, it's a punishment because you have to deal with everyone who doesn't have it.

its not really that big of a deal.....the private sellers are almost always selling a single weapon, rarely more than one.......and they are usually a bit higher priced than the dealers. plus, it draws more people to the show

Well, if i paid a significant fee to to display and sell my merch in a specific, advertised venue, and bozos who paid nothing but a standard admission fee ,where walking around selling to my customer base,INSIDE THE VENUE, I'd be more than a little pissed about it.

It's the same here in Oklahoma. Not many private sales take place because of the individual wanting a higher price. There might be a bit of horsetrading and dickering but most of the time at the shows I've gone to almost all firearms are sold at a dealer's table.
As to the OP...I notice no one addressed any of the lies/deceptions the poster pointed out. And this point:
is at the heart of the issue for me. Not one thing he proposes will stop mass shootings but it restricts those of us who are avid [recreational] shooters or hunters. Gost guns ... maybe one or two have been used in some obscure crime somewhere but I sure haven't heard anything about them being used....nothing he announced today would stop gun violence or mass shootings. Instead it was just an attack on the 2nd Amendment and the freedoms we love.
