It was in the end rejected, but the assumption that the fathers wanted it enshrined for posterity is incorrect. They agreed to an amendment process because they knew better.
Jefferson suggested every generation should have the solemn opportunity to update it and pass it on til the end of time.

not a single word of that drivel you wrote debunks what I stated. the Constitution was written to create the federal government. Prescribe them a set of power that were few and defined. The founder believe that individual rights were paramount. That the federal governments sole purpose was to protect the rights of the individual. where you got the crap you just spewed is.......well, it's just wrong
A sad commentary on we, as a people, and our viewpoint of our freedom can be summed up like this. We have liberals and conservatives, Democrats and Republicans, yet those very people look at Constitutionalists as radical and extreme.................so those liberals and conservatives, Democrats and Republicans must believe that the constitution is radical and extreme.
