One-Third Of COVID-19 Survivors Suffer From Neurological Disorders
    By Bill Galluccio

    April 7, 2021

A new study is shedding more light on the long-term effects of COVID-19. The study, which was published in the journal Lancet Psychiatry, found that 34% of people who survived their battle with the coronavirus developed a neurological or psychological condition within six months of their recovery.

The conditions were more likely to be found in people who were hospitalized with more severe cases of COVID-19.

"That rate increased progressively as the severity of the Covid-19 illness increased. If we look at patients who were hospitalized, that rate increased to 39%," said Maxime Taquet, a co-author of the study.

Anxiety was the most common condition, found in 17% of survivors, while 14% were diagnosed with mood disorders. Other, more rare diseases included strokes and dementia, which were found in 7% and 2%, respectively, of survivors.

The researchers were not able to determine why so many people developed neurological disorders and said that more studies need to be conducted to find out if the causes are psychological, biological, or both.

"The impact COVID-19 is having on individuals' mental health can be severe," Lea Milligan, chief executive of the MQ Mental Health research charity, told Reuters. "This is contributing to the already rising levels of mental illness and requires further urgent research."

The problem is that because of the continued massive failure of the so called experts we have no idea how many people have been visited by SARS-COV2.

    Panic porn.

How can 34% of Covid recoveries result in various disorders AND most often happen in Covid hospitalizations—when the vast majority of infections don’t require hospitalization? That doesn’t add up.

Also, to whatever extent there are lingering effects to infection they can’t be referred to as ‘long term’ when we’re barely over a year into this? Long term isn’t here yet.

Why don't you do some research to see if it is in fact true?

Covid-19 survivors suffer 'brain disease,' study shows
    Updated 4:27 AM EDT April 7, 2021
People infected with Covid-19 have longer term mental health or neurological symptoms, researchers reported Tuesday.
Covid-19 survivors received a diagnosis for a neurological or psychological condition within six months of their infection, according to the study published Tuesday in the journal Lancet Psychiatry.

And while the neurological effects are more severe in hospitalized patients, they are still common in those who were only treated in an outpatient setting, the researchers note.
"That rate increased progressively as the severity of the Covid-19 illness increased. If we look at patients who were hospitalized that rate increased to 39%," said Maxime Taquet, an academic clinical fellow in psychiatry at the University of Oxford, and a co-author of the new study.
The results help light the way for how the healthcare system ought to continue helping Covid-19 survivors, the researchers said.
"Our results indicate that brain diseases and psychiatric disorders are more common after Covid-19 than after flu or other respiratory infections, even when patients are matched for other risk factors. We now need to see what happens beyond six months," Taquet added.
    Covid-19 is a 'brain disease'
It's the largest study of its kind yet and involved the electronic health records of more than 236,000 Covid-19 patients, mostly in the US. The researchers compared their records with those who experienced other respiratory tract infections during the same time frame.
They observed that those with Covid-19 had a 44% increased risk for neurological and psychiatric illness compared to people recvering from flu. And they were 16% more likely to experience those effects compared with people with other respiratory tract infections.

They're experts for a reason, Gomer. If you don't listen to the experts, who do you listen to? Tucker Carlson?
