    Default The Battle of Powder River

    It's truly amazing that the soldiers fired nearly two thousand rounds and yet only killed one Indian! On the other hand the Cheyenne and Lakota warriors fired 200 rounds, killed four and seriously wounded six soldiers. They also recaptured 500 of their horses the next morning. I know it was night but it doesn't say much for the marksmanship of the soldiers.
