Default Mental Illness is not to blame for gun violence

There are millions of mentally ill people in the US that do not go and shoot up Asian businesses.

So mental illness isn't the cause of gun violence, and never was.

The cause of gun violence is and always will be guns.

If it was about sex addiction, why didn't this "very fine person" target any of the millions of strip clubs in Atlanta, which is practically what the fucking city is known for.

In fact, there are two strip clubs about 100 yards away from the spas he attacked on Piedmont.

Every country on earth has mental illness. We are the only major western country with this level of mass shooting. There is something different about America, and it is not that we alone have mental illness.

This is one of the things that need improvement about the USA, but will not because we have 20-40% of the population who are crazy and think we are worse than Nazi Germany.

Guns make it easier and more deadly. So easy that people who could not do it before, now can by pulling a trigger. We would all be much safer without guns.

    I agree 100%.

Guns are pointless, dangerous, and expensive.

France requires all gun owners to pass a mental competency test before they acquire a firearm, and then periodic follow up tests after that.

    It makes emminent sense.

You almost never hear about an INCEL go on a mass murder spree with a kitchen knife or lead pipe.

The NRA favors locking anyone up that might have mental problems, but if they are free giving them guns. Think about that for a minute.

Uh, no they don't Walt. Where do you come up with this silly bullshit?
Common sense is not a gift, it's a punishment because you have to deal with everyone who doesn't have it.

I truly wish the UK had a Bill of rights and the right to own a firearm. I admire the deep rooted inalienable rights the American people have. You should cherish them. The reason I will never take the Covid vaccine is because a UK politician is TELLING me to. If I saw deaths and sickness first hand and the vaccine was a proven winner I would CHOOSE to have it. Politicians know nothing and in fact (in UK) have a proven track record of dishonesty and criminality and self interest.
The DEms and lefties shouted out at full blast of the vile rotten person who drove the car into the protestors - NOT ONE OF YOU WANTED CARS BANNED OR THE RIGHT TO OWN A CAR TAKEN AWAY.!!!
The problem is the duplicity of the DEms and leftie liars. You are not honest. You never accept or even mention the massive black on black drug pushing which kills many people - young people. You seem to condone it .. "Oh well these people were once salves so no wonder they are against society and killing their brothers and sisters with drugs and guns"!! This is how you come across.
WALT made a decent post and has settled argument but many of the Dems and lefties can not be taken seriously because your actions are through spite and malicious spite just because Republicans support gin owning. You operate from an ideological stance and not a forensic honest exchange on the facts.

    No, they don't.

    They NRA backed this:

House Republicans have voted 235-180 to overturn an Obama administration that blocked Social Security disability recipients with mental disorders from buying guns. Less than two weeks into Trump’s presidency and Republicans have given the mentally ill easier access to guns.

.J. Res. 40 undid a Social Security Administration rule requiring the agency to report certain disabled applicants to the National Instant Criminal Background Check System.

Federal law stipulates that anyone "who has been adjudicated as a mental defective or has been committed to any mental institution" cannot own a gun. In 2008, George W. Bush signed the NICS Improvement Amendment Act, which mandated federal agencies to report certain disabled individuals to the database.
Federally licensed firearms dealers use the database to screen potential gun buyers.

The SSA rule was issued in 2016 to comply with the NICS Improvement Amendment Act.

The Obama administration said that it would affect "the approximately 75,000 people each year who have a documented mental health issue, receive disability benefits, and are unable to manage those benefits because of their mental impairment, or who have been found by a state or federal court to be legally incompetent."

It also included a mechanism for people to seek an exemption from the ban on owning a gun for mental health reasons.
But in 2017, Republicans — backed by the National Rifle Association and disability rights groups — initiated a rarely-used process to void the SSA rule.

President Donald Trump signed H.J. Res. 40 into law on Feb. 28, 2017.

The report I saw was that he did not go to strip clubs, he went to message parlors.

This seems relatively easy to understand, though I am well aware of your mental deficiencies.
This illegal illegitimate regime that runs America is at fault...not me.... they do not represent me and I have long objected to their crimes against humanity.
