Phoenix gets pretty hot in the summer. Getting out of your car feels like a wall of heat. Asphalt in the area softens so much you leave footprints in it, which is why concrete is used widely instead.
Some folks like the heat. Others are 'snow birds', commuting each season to cooler parts of the country during Phoenix summers, then returning to enjoy the marvelous winters there.

Some folks say the best time is from late fall to early spring.

    2011

It's a long story, but here's the short version: In the mid-1990s, the National Geographic Society faced a dramatic decline in its membership which continues today. (More than 10 million people once belonged to NGS; now there are fewer than 5 million dues-paying members.) As a result, senior executives decided to begin transforming the Society into a global media company — turning National Geographic into, de facto, the International Geographic.
    https://www.adn.com/commentary/artic...-0/2011/12/30/

But the 2008 financial crisis exposed the organization’s fragility. To shore up its future, the organization took the radical step of selling the majority control of its media properties, including the iconic National Geographic magazine.

Those properties, which employed most of the people who worked for the Society, had long been a key source of funding for the organization’s scientific and educational initiatives. But their 2015 sale dramatically boosted the Society’s endowment, providing millions of new dollars for research, exploration and conservation efforts. It has also led to shifts in the Society’s long-standing organizational culture.

A strategic plan created under Mr. Ulica’s leadership sparked more change. Under the plan, the Society is now actively identifying and engaging with organizations that share its values. The goal is to build partnerships with organizations it believes can help push for conservation and environmental changes around the world

Destroying the once great organization just as so many people are getting motivated to "save the planet" not easy to do, but these fools managed.
This illegal illegitimate regime that runs America is at fault...not me.... they do not represent me and I have long objected to their crimes against humanity.

Pretty common event for Phoenix. It seems Tinker knows more about Phoenix weather than Poor Richard Saunders.

A response to Moonbat's list of 'disasters' that are supposedly taking place.
Specifically to hurricane activity, Tinker is correct. According to National Hurricane Center data, which tracks these storms, there is no marked increase in either the frequency or intensity of these storms for as far back as the database goes back to all the way up to today.

No one is tracking droughts or floods because these are not quantitative. Neither is 'coastal erosion' (notice the coasts of North America still look the same?). No ocean current has 'collapsed'. Currents in oceans (and air) are driven by uneven heating of the Earth, not by weather or any of the many climates on Earth.

Locusts are a natural function of the grasshopper lifestyle. They form when some desert area gets more rain than usual that winter. Usually, they just chow down on all that vegetation that grew there, but sometimes they drift near cities and farms, where they can cause a lot of damage.

Famines occur for a lot of reasons, not the least of which is wars and governments.

Water wars are as old as water itself. It was a water war between Arizona and California that resulted in the compact known as the Law of the River (meaning the Colorado river). Similar compacts exist any any arid area, all the way back to Egypt and the Nile, overseen by rulers known as Pharaohs having absolute rule over the use of the river in their governed section. China also formed dictatorial governments based on 'water lords'. Nothin' new here. Water wars have been around for a VERY long time.

The vague 'migration disaster' has no meaning. Nothing is said about what is migrating or why, and why it constitutes a 'disaster'.

No one is tracking the number of locusts in the world. Famines are a subjective term, not countable. War wars result when a compact on the use of river water breaks down. This is political and has nothing to do with any weather.

No one is tracking 'coastal erosion', since there is no need. Idiots that build houses atop sea cliffs that naturally erode by falling away and becoming part of the beach are just that: idiots.

Yeah, they're idiots. They are not quoting data, because there really is no data to quote. They are just quoting someone's random numbers, typically those of some government with an agenda.

Yes they are. The Church of Global Warming denies science, mathematics, logic, and history. It takes a true fundamentalist to do so and claim their religion has been proven true.

Still arguing over Phoenix weather. I wonder why Poor Richard Saunders is so concerned about hot summer days in Phoenix??

Define 'weather disaster'. What constitutions a 'disaster'? You are quoting random numbers you just made up. Argument from randU fallacy.
