Werewolf Hey Joe!! China warns US not to cross 'red line' on Taiwan

What, if anything should Joe do about Chinese threats??

China's claim to Taiwan is an "insurmountable red line," the Chinese foreign minister warned the US administrationled by President Joe Biden on Sunday.

Wang Yi was speaking at an annual news conference during the meeting of the National People's Congress, China's annual parliamentary session.

Wang addressed other aspects of the tense US-China relationship during the news conference.

The top minister vigorously defended the Chinese stance on controversial Hong Kong electoral reforms and human rights abuses in Xinjiang.

He also covered European relations and Myanmar.
"There is no question former President Trump bears moral responsibility. His supporters stormed the Capitol because of the unhinged falsehoods he shouted into the world’s largest megaphone," McConnell wrote. "His behavior during and after the chaos was also unconscionable, from attacking Vice President Mike Pence during the riot to praising the criminals after it ended."

What should he do? Or, what will he do?

He should stand up to China. Making a couple of nice big arms sales to Taiwan would be a good start. That'd be a clear indication where the US stands on that issue. But that won't happen with Joke in the White House.

What he will do is little or nothing other than maybe make a brief statement or two about this chastising China without consequence. After all his bagman son no doubt is lining up another big cash "donation" from the Chinese for Joke. Or maybe he'll send his Chinese spy in Congress Eric Swalwell to grab the loot...

Trump is no longer president. You don't have to pretend China is important anymore.

What specifically does "stand up" mean?

What, if anything is selling more arms going to accomplish?? Short term/long term??

Stand up means things like siding with other nations on the S. China Sea issue against Chinese expansion there and assisting those nations with aid to help them contain said expansion. Another would be openly condemning China for their human rights abuses without qualification. That is, be direct and condemn them with consequences.

Taiwan right now is something of a pariah state and is developing an in-house arms industry that exports to sustain itself. Taiwan doesn't have access to many newer military technologies because of Chinese pressure not to sell to them. It is clear that Taiwan doesn't want to be part of mainland China and the US should honor that decision by assisting them in remaining free of Beijing. We've already seen how the Communist government in China is breaking every promise made on the handover of Hong Kong.

Other European powers such as the United Kingdom and Germany are also expected to deploy warships to the area in what increasingly looks like a concerted Western pushback against China's maritime ambitions.

    ~~

However Macron has been trying to establish an "alternative" to Europe/NAT0
( remember he wanted his own EU army?)

Suggestion; look over France's ambitions outside of NATO/EU ( do some googling) and let us know pls

Another mess left behind by trump. Going to be tough to deal with, and lots of work, guess that is why he left it to Biden.

"The Chinese government has no room for compromise or concessions on the Taiwan issue,"
    https://www.dw.com/en/china-warns-us...wan/a-56798946

Hopefully Taiwan understands that there is about zero chance America will be coming to their aid, that they are going away, China will not stand for any other outcome and America cant do anything about it.

you do realize Beijing Biden has said "China is not our competitor"?
as for "dealing with it" Biden isnt doing a fucking thing -instead his policy is "strategic patience"

All this predates Trump / Biden et all ignored Chinese hegemony/malign trade prior to Trump
who insisted on bypassing the WTO ( paper tiger)

And "Leading from alongside", which is an improvement on Obama's disastrous "Leading from behind".
