That's what's been happening. It's why private schools have been open. Yes, precautions have to be taken and if a teacher is at high risk they shouldn't have to come to school. But the science and data show that schools can (and should) be open. Kids are getting crushed right now and we're doing long term damage to them from both a developmental and emotional perspective.
Do I think public education in this country needs to be reformed? Yes, I do. Does that make me a public education hater? I don't believe so. I think the term 'supporting public education' to some/many means simply doing what the teachers unions want. I don't agree with that.
Show me where it is written that the risk factor disappears with younger people.
Oh that's right.... nobody has said that.
Why should younger people (teachers in this case) be required to put their lives at risk just to stay employed and do heir jobs?
Older retired people can and should STAY THE FUCK AT HOME!!!!!
C'MON MAN!!!!
Technically why should anyone have to risk their lives? To eliminate the risk no one should have let their home for several months but we know that's not realistic.
All along it's been about 'follow the data and science'. The data and science shows that with proper protocols it is safe to reopen schools. (If you are at high risk then don't come in.) The unintended consequences of keeping schools closed is the damage to the health of children. As often occurs the unintended actions do far more damage than the initial attempted safety of teachers.
I get it, this is all political. Teachers Unions support Democrats so therefore Democrats support the desires of the Teachers Unions. Republicans don't like teachers unions etc.
And in this case politics trumps the science and the needs of the children.
Young people who died were not healthy. They may have APPEARED young, strong and active, but no one reported what was
going on inside their bodies. There are many varieties of auto-immune disorders that we won't know about.
Case in point are these twins in FL. I've followed them for a couple years on YouTube. Both have their captain licenses and have
a fantastic fishing/boating channel.

Twin Sisters Juggle Staying Healthy and Busy College Life
Amanda (left) and Emily Gale
Twin sisters Amanda and Emily Gale were both diagnosed with primary immunodeficiency diseases (PI) at the age of 15. But their diagnoses have not stopped these busy college students, now 20. Their determination and spirit has only grown stronger.
“When I was first diagnosed it was hard to understand because I felt healthy,” explains Amanda, “When I got sick in my junior year of high school, I realized how difficult my PI condition could be…it took time, but the more I faced my fears (needles, etc.) the more I accepted it. Once I began to independently infuse myself, needles and all, I took control of my future.”
Emily agrees with her sister and says that accepting her diagnosis was critical, “When I accepted my disease, I began understanding my own limitations and ultimately allowing myself to thrive.”
Before the twin’s sophomore year of high school, Emily underwent surgery for a congenital heart defect. She was soon diagnosed with Hypogammaglobulinemia, and during that same time Amanda was diagnosed with Common Variable Immune Deficiency (CVID). The girls feel that they were truly lucky to have each other during that difficult time.

Abortion rights dogma can obscure human reason & harden the human heart so much that the same person who feels
empathy for animal suffering can lack compassion for unborn children who experience lethal violence and excruciating
pain in abortion.
Unborn animals are protected in their nesting places, humans are not. To abort something is to end something
which has begun. To abort life is to end it.
