I buy a shitload of electrical supplies from Lowes and Home Depot. The guy(s) in the electrical section are generally knowledgeable enough to recommend alternatives and understand technical talk from pro buyers like me. They aren't just some idiot standing in the isle. I deal with the special order people regularly too. Yea, you do have to coax them along to get the exact right stuff, but they know enough to get through that process unlike the cashiers or stockers.

I also generally prefer Home Depot to Lowes because of the brands they stock. Lowe's carries Eaton for a lot of things while Home Depot carries Leviton and Square D that I prefer. Both also carry ITE Siemens / GE but Home Depot usually has a better selection.

I use Home Depot because it is much closer, and I get 10% off almost everything (appliances and rentals are exceptions) because my wife is retired military.

I get the 10% military discount or the Pro Plus depending on how I'm billing things at both. It's odd that depending on the store some things might not qualify while at others they do.

I never ask for technical advice like NEC references. That I know myself. I do ask for alternatives to say a box they carry or different lighting options, that sort of thing.

There was a time when the so-called experts tended to be retired guys who knew what they were talking about, I dont know exactly when that went away. I did hear that it was because of cost cutting, at one point the pay offered got to be insulting to these guys.

I still find them here in Arizona. They don't always have right answers though...

The two phrases do not seem to be mutually exclusive.

Know why, dumbfuck? Because, with the lockdowns, they made billions upon billions in profits.

That $12/hr is meaningless, since many, maybe most, work less than 40 hours per week. Same for Home Depot.

They need to pass the $15 an hour minimum wage now! It should a full $15 an hour right now, not over a period time?!!

I don't mind paying more for services and products, last long the workers are getting $15 an hour or more?!!
