Okay, let's clear this up.....there are SPECIFIC books by Dr. Seuss, NOT ALL HIS WORKS, that have imagery that for it's time was NOT CONSIDERED RACISTS BY THE WHITE MAJORITY, but always seen as derogatory by minorities. Now is the right time to address such issues. It should be noted that Seuss's later books were devoid of such imagery and promoted racial, gender and social equality.
Personally, I am against banning of books willy nilly....for me said books would have to be blatant hatred or instructions on how to cause racial strife, get away with wife beating or child molestation or rape or anarchy or insurrection to be banned. The black folk that lived through Jim Crow, fought and died to give me my current life style read Seuss to their kids, explained what had to be explained and just moved on.
I DON'T THINK THE BOOKS SHOULD BE BANNED. That's my 2 cents on the subject.

Almost all Suess books are free and open, They have no problems. However , partially due to what was acceptable in the past, some are in poor taste, One book has a person called a Japanese and he is colored bright yellow. It was written after WW2. It is in poor taste now.
