He set up a rally down the street from the capitol as they were ceremonially counting already certified electoral votes. He scheduled speakers who would buy the lie and make the people angrier and angrier. Speaker after speaker did it. Then Trump said let's march down to the capitol and I will go with you. He wasn't going to do that. He had let that mad dogs loose. They were primed for blood. They got it.
I would love to see Daffy in court trying to pretend he had no idea what would happen. No judge or jury could buy that.

Given Trump's history on lawsuits, I doubt he'll settle. Instead, he'll run those bringing it out of money and they'll either drop the suit or no longer be able to afford going forward and the suit fails on that basis. That's long been a legal style of developers and contractors.

Trump financial situation is on shaky ground, so I wouldn't count on Trump out spending his way out of a lawsuit.
