Default Newsom 'Plan' to Re-Open California Schools Involves Billions in Bribes

Now that there are nearly two million recall signatures and parents are so fed up with COVID closures that they’re going after the LA teachers’ union, Governor Gavin Newsom has chosen to reveal his grand plan to re-open California schools.

The governor, whose own children have been going to in-person private school for months now, announced that his plan does not require the public schools to open, but is an “enticement” to open instead.

Newsom says the plan was a “bottom-up not top-down” collaboration of state lawmakers and other “stakeholders.”

To put it simply, Newsom offers a bribe for districts that open.

The plan relies on financial incentives to get more campuses to open in the spring. School districts in counties that meet the virus threshold and do not open by April 1 would lose 1% of their share of the $2 billion in reopening funds for each school day that distance learning is the only option that’s offered. Schools that are currently open or have plans to reopen before the end of March would be allowed to go forward with their respective reopening and still qualify for the funding.

No, he is leveraging the billions that Pelosi promised him from porkulus to bribe school officials to save him from recall.

You have to reopen those schools when you have a recall looming.

Bingo. Even if you have to give away billions in "COVID relief" funds to the "right people" to make it happen.

Schools should not open at all until all teachers and support staff are vaccinated.

Newsom making a gigantic mistake that is going to get people killed.

If we had stuck to the usual timeline of three years to develop a vaccine, and Operation Warp Speed had never happened... Would your stance be at all malleable?

Operation Warp Speed had nothing to do with these vaccines. The drug companies had been developing them and working on them since January 2020.

Operation Warp Speed is like a cheerleader standing on the sidelines, thinking what they do has an impact on the game being played on the field.

Had we locked down nationally to control the spread, the risk of COVID would have diminished so much that we could wait for a vaccine and not upset most of our daily lives.

But y'all didn't want to do that because you were in denial about COVID.

No. Operation War Speed was to get government out of the way of the approval process. That's what takes the five years. Red tape and bureaucracy. It worked. Operation Warp Speed was a success.

Lockdowns do not stop a virus. See the CDC data as evidence of this.
Masks do not stop a virus. See the CDC data and the N95 specification as evidence of this.

Oh, so then no credit can be given to it for the vaccines. I always knew it was stupid and pointless, but this just proves it for me.

Lockdowns do not stop a virus.
Yes, they do because they prevent the spread. You can't catch it if no one is out there spreading it.

Masks do not stop a virus.
Yes, they do. NY's flattened curve for nine months, while everyone else's curves didn't flatten, proves it.

6 feet does not stop a virus.
Yes it does if you adhere to that and wear a mask outside your home. NY's flattened curve for nine months before Thanksgiving is the proof of that.

You can't catch it from the 99.97% of the people that are not infected either.

Argument from randU fallacy. Attempted proof by cherry picking. Attempted proof by non-sequitur. Argument by repetition fallacy. Argument of the stone fallacy. RQAA.

6 feet does not stop a virus. Covid19 is airborne. You somehow believe it can't travel 6 feet?????
Masks are completely ineffective against a virus. See the CDC data and the N95 specification.
