Correct. It's a self-reinforcing delusion. If everyone around you is doing it, then most people tend to go with it. Depending upon their personalities and experience, they may or may not recognize when things are going too far.
Obviously the Insurrectionists were well off the mark. Their impending prison sentences would certainly put a damper on the CPAC's crowd expectations of Trump or what they are willing to do for him.
It's one thing to wave a flag, tie a yellow ribbon, go "rah-rah-rah" but it's another thing to put everything you have on the line...as the Insurrectionist are finding out.

The lawsuit, coupled with the loss of business and the new supposed competition from Hogg.
But...the drug addict already made countless millions from his pillow business. It would be nice to see him lose it via damages, but it's evidently a hard case to make in court.
Once in a while you get shown the light, in the strangest of places if you look at it right.
