Default Are The Modern Day Parties Responsible For the Past?

With all the talks about the party switch and the formation of KKK and such, the question is: are both parties responsible for what the people did in the past in their parties of the same name?

Certain people here constantly harp about how the Democratic Party formed the KKK as if that means something today.

And are the modern day Republician Party responsible for Nixon and the Southern Strategy?

    It's a good question.

But not one the Republicans will want to talk about.

They are frequently the party of double standards.

They want to hold Democrats responsible for things they would never take responsibility for in their own party.
