    Not just checks..we have been pumping quite a bit of money already before this monstrosity coming up

    I wouldn't call this a monstrosity...I would call it woefully inadequate.

    We need a recovery bill that is probably 3x-4x the size of this one, that includes recurring and retroactive checks.

    I don't think any party truly understands the magnitude by which COVID wrecked our economy and changed how our economy will operate moving forward.

    My big thing has always been that consumers will not go out and spend money if they do not feel safe.

    So until the time comes that COVID is not a threat because of mass vaccinations, the economy is going to struggle because nothing has been done to stimulate it to the degree we need it to be stimulated.

    Most of the country isn't in lockdown now, but we are still mired in a recession because people do not feel safe.

    Telling people for 12 months that COVID was a hoax, as we lost 4,000 people a day, didn't make anyone feel any safer.

    I would love nothing more than to be able to go out to eat at a restaurant, but it's just not safe to do that right now while I'm still not vaccinated.

    Well, here we are...a month into his administration and still no:

    -->$2K checks
    -->$15/hr MW
    -->Student Debt Relief

    But hey, he dropped a few bombs in Syria, so....

    Right...but my issue is that this is something needed immediately, and that urgency was expressed two months ago...but now I don't see that same sense of urgency today.

    In fact, it feels like the Democrats are running out the clock, and that this is going to be the only COVID relief bill between now and November 2022.

    If that's the case, they can kiss their majorities goodbye. The Democrats are not going to have the courage or will to push for things like a new Voting Rights Act.

    I am truly worried that the only major legislation they will pass will be this tiny COVID bill, and that most voters will forget about it by November 2022.

    I knew this would happen and it's precisely what I warned about a year ago.
    Mitch was not the president. However, when Trump was rejected by a parliamentarian he fired her. The Dem presidents did not break laws and protocols like a spoiled children

    Maybe they should start? And maybe the protocols are bullshit?

    I think Schumer is completely feckless...McConnell plays him like a fiddle.

    If Biden and the Dems don't deliver what they promised and what the majority want in the way of policy, they are knowingly and willingly handing our government over to the Fascists and that is the bottom line.

    A Modest Proposal For Separating Blue States From Red

    Dear Red-State Trump Voter,
    Let’s face it, guys: We’re done.

    It is a tragedy that so much of the work that so many men and women toiled at for so long to make this a better country, and a better world, has been thrown away, leaving us all in such needless peril.

    This is why our separation in all but name is necessary.

    Trump and Moscow Mitch did not respect laws. They are not starting now. The Dems have to do what is right. The reds are not under such constraints. It is called winning. Biden promised 1400 and it was passed in the house last night. Now it has to get through the Senate.
    Trump actually fired a parliamentarian who ruled against what he wanted. So you have no problems with Trumpism continuing?

    The DEMOCRAT Party is fascist.

    I don't recall any other party working so hard to stifle political dissent in America.
