I don't think its fair for tax payers to once again have to bail out this anti government, want to leave the Union, anti everything American, but MONEY HICK STATE. Why should any of us have to pay for their utility bills, that they themselves benefited with low payments for years until the shit hit the fan???? And to reward utility companies with our hard earned tax dollars bc they failed to service their failing infrastructures????? This whole ordeal with Texas is nothing but a free financial windfall off the sweat and toil of hard working tax payers and its not right.
I am sick and tired of these Red states, who get more in federal welfare than any state in the union, in a constant state of handouts from tax payers, who pay nothing near the taxes most of us pay. In my opinion, this should be a teachable moment for Texans. I say let them bail their ownselves out of this mess and maybe just maybe, next time they go to the voting booths, they'd think about voting for ppl, WHO AREN'T ANTI GOVERNMENT......

One should not assume all Red States get more than they give:

More likely, we move on with our 244 year old mistake and never reach the goals that mistake was formed to achieve.

You should not judge how much total money a state--any state--gets from the feds on a simplistic ratio of cash to population. After all, most federal money isn't going to the population but into things the fed does like say, defense. If your state has more military bases you get money to run those. That isn't some welfare ROI on tax money.

"There is no question former President Trump bears moral responsibility. His supporters stormed the Capitol because of the unhinged falsehoods he shouted into the world’s largest megaphone," McConnell wrote. "His behavior during and after the chaos was also unconscionable, from attacking Vice President Mike Pence during the riot to praising the criminals after it ended."
