Default South Carolina Bans Abortion; Seeks To Expand Poverty...

"COLUMBIA, S.C. — South Carolina’s governor on Thursday signed a law banning most abortions, one of his top priorities since he took office more than four years ago. Planned Parenthood immediately sued, effectively preventing the measure from taking effect."

    ...

"Supporters of restrictive abortion laws are trying to get the issue before the U.S. Supreme Court in the hopes that — with three justices appointed by Republican former President Donald Trump — the court could overturn Roe v. Wade, the 1973 decision supporting abortion rights. "

South Carolina governor signs abortion ban, prompting immediate lawsuit
Supporters of restrictive abortion laws are trying to get the issue before the U.S. Supreme Court in the hopes that the court could overturn Roe v. Wade.

    ...

Even if they overturn Roe, all it's gonna do is make abortion illegal in some states but not others. That will prompt an increase in abortion tourism among the rich, but for the poor who cannot afford to travel for an abortion, they will be forced to expand their families whether they want to or not.

The result will be an expansion of poverty in red States which pass such laws.

Republicans seem determined to crank out more Democratic voters and hasten the demise of the already flailing Republican party.

    Oh, well...

Republican party shoots itself in the foot.

    Just give it time.

They are in the process of creating more Democratic voters.

If Republicans don't stop shooting themselves in the foot they will never dance on the WH lawn again.

And more devastating, they will start losing State government controls too.

Imagine being so devoid of humanity that you try to scare or convince your adversaries into killing their own children for economic or political reasons. Those type tactics do not work on people who have ethics and morals. In fact it only further proves their point and strengthens their resolve......

Default I usually say conservatism is not based on principled policy positions, but...

In the past 25 years, the three policy issues conservatives have actually been most passionate about are forcing women to give birth, banning gay marriage, and invading Iraq.

I agree. It will be struck down as unconstitutional in the lower courts, as all the prior attempts at forced-birth laws have been.
