Default Public employee unions are getting rich from the China Virus. You are paying for it

UNION FAT CATS ALREADY GOT THEIR STIMULUS, AND THEY'RE GETTING MORE

DEMOCRATS have been doling out raises to the unionized government workers who give them campaign donations.

As part of his proposed $1.9 trillion relief bill, the illegitimate pretender to the presidency wants to send $350 billion in unrestricted cash to blue state and local governments to fill their budget holes.

But while the DEMOCRAT-mandated lockdowns have depressed state tax revenue, the prospect of federal aid has encouraged many of these supposedly blameless states to keep piling on costs.

Nowhere has that been more evident than with the pay raises dished out in recent months to unionized government employees.

As private businesses fold or hold on by their fingernails, public-sector labor unions have their hands out, demanding the pay raises set forth in labor contracts negotiated before the politically-motivated pandemic panic ravaged public finances.

In DEMOCRAT-dominated Connecticut, where unemployment was 8% in December after topping 10% this summer, unionized state workers have pocketed two rounds of raises: a 3.5% bump in July and another worth about 2% earlier this month. DEMOCRAT Gov. Ned Lamont had initially suggested postponing the raises—“to lead by example”—but the labor union 1199 SEIU blitzed the airwaves with television commercials accusing unnamed politicians of wanting to “take away” their wages. DEMOCRAT Lamont folded.

Blue York Gov. "Killer" Cuomo indicated he’ll use federal aid to pay union raises retroactively, and let others continue outright. Most Blue York school districts went ahead with raises this summer, even though the schools were shut down

Automatic pay increases regardless of economic conditions are an unimaginable proposition in the private economy.

Many unionized government employees collected their full pay and benefits while not working during the DEMOCRAT-decreed lockdowns.

The politically-motivated pandemic panic has laid bare a fundamental problem with public-sector collective bargaining: Taxpayers should never be on the hook for raises that don’t reflect future economic realities—especially when DEMOCRAT politicians have a personal interest in pushing costs into the future.

So, because the democratic decree orders them not to report to work, they should be penalized for following orders??? Remember they have labor contracts that have to be honored.

BTW, blue states generally collect more tax dollars then red states, yet red states get more federal (see Texas) aid then blue states.

I never said they were ordered back to work; I said they were ordered not to return to work.
