According to the below link and a wiki link, lying in state isn't automatic; it has to be approved by both sides of Congress. I presume it's simple majority.

Yes. Never speak ill of the recently deceased. There's plenty of time to do that later. Whether you love Trump or hate him, he is entitled to have a state funeral. If you're in the hater category, don't participate and keep your trap shut. Let the mourners have their day or week or whatever.

The alternate to that is your inhumanity will be on full display for everyone to see.

President Tyler never received a state funeral. His casket was draped with the Confederate flag. So there's precedent for not honoring presidents who've betrayed the nation.
