That may work with Republican Congresscritters, but I doubt a Georgia jury will see it that way. The Trials of the Trump Family will fill a few novels over the next few years.

It's simple. The Democrats and their enablers in the MSM are currently spinning a dual narrative about the capitol riot and Trump's involvement.

On the one hand, they are saying that Trump's speech that day was the proximate cause of incitement that allowed the riot to occur. Their claim is thus, it's Trump's fault.

Then there's a second narrative that those that carried out the Capitol riot were planning it for weeks and had stockpiled items to assist in carrying this plan out. Trump cannot be blamed for these actions.

So, the question is which is it? Did Trump incite a riot with his speech or were the rioters planning to do so well in advance of that speech without Trump's knowledge of it?

The mere fact that the two narratives are in direct conflict and that the Democrats and MSM are saying both are true shows that they got nothing to actually pin the crimes they're claiming on Trump.

He's gone. He's not coming back to office. The Democrats and Left need to stop wasting the nation's time and money in a Kafkaesque Salem Witch Trial of Trump that will produce nothing. We have far bigger and more important fish to fry and the Democrats aren't even the least bit focused on any of that. It is reason enough on its own to turn them out of office in two years.

Both. There is no contradiction. Quite the opposite, makes the case against Trump stronger.

Since all the insurrectionists were kind enough to take thousands of pictures and hours of videos, the "Democrats and their enablers in the MSM" won't have to spin too much.

There's no doubt in my mind this was all preplanned and coordinated with the Trump administration. Even if Trump isn't convicted, there will most certainly be Trump staffers, and maybe family, going to jail over the insurrection and deaths.

Yes there is. Show some evidence that Trump had some role in planning and stockpiling materials in advance of his speech to further the Capitol rioters.

I never said Trump was stockpiling materials.

Time will tell. This all doesn't end when the Senate takes a vote. Trump can be charged with election tampering by both the Georgia AG and the Washinton DC AG....and I suspect he will.

As for the planning and coordination (you remember C3, right?) there has to be a direct link to the WH from the major militia groups. I suspect Stephen Miller and a loose tie to Junior. Time will tell if that can be proved in court but I suspect it will.

Let's not forget that Trump fucked over every person who did as he asked and attacked the Capitol. Regardless if they go to prison or not, and some most certainly will go to prison, they won't forget the Blue Falcon who fucked them over.

He's using it correctly, but I'm guessing you are going solely by the Constitutional definition.

    https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/treason
    Definition of treason
1: the offense of attempting by overt acts to overthrow the government of the state to which the offender owes allegiance or to kill or personally injure the sovereign or the sovereign's family
2: the betrayal of a trust : TREACHERY
