Default would a MAGA Party succeed?

conventional wisdom sez it would only serve to fracture the GOP even further and fizzle out like Ross Perot or Ayn Rand's acolyte Barry Goldwater

but since America is seriously infested with right wing lunatics, on a MONUMENTAL scale, could happen Don Jr pushes MAGA over the line and replaces the tired useless GOP altogether?

It won’t replace the GOP, it will just split the right vote.

    that's the CW, I know

recent events tell me that's not a given, within the realm of possibility.......tons of the RINOs will hold their noses and vote for ANYONE other than a Democrat if history is a guide

Biden only won because Trump is obviously insane and he probably got 60-70% of the Indy vote

I read something today that trump has been talked out of starting another Party, I assume for the same reasons you mentioned, it would kill the GOP for Decades to come. That said I do believe trump will continue to try running the GOP as a hobby for at least two more years, after that my guess is he will lose interest and fade into the background, that is if his legal problems don't catch up with him in a way that prohibits him being involved in politics. I would prefer he do what he said at one of his last rallies, just fad away never to be heard from again.

No, third parties are never successful, the two party system is entrenched in America

On a local level, perhaps, but nothing beyond that, besides, not being number one will lead to Trump's disinterest

    Would a MAGA Party succeed?
That would depend on the definition of "success" in the context of its existence.

It won't succeed, but it will do enough damage to the GOP to cost them critical races in the House and Senate.

And also, it won't succeed because they'll all lose interest in a week, because they have the brains of goldfish.

slightly off-topic I heard today Trump may have pardoned himself and his twisted brood on the way out, secretly

found out a few days ago that the constitution does not require pardons to be publicly announced, which is truly pathetic

    Double secret pardons?

Certainly wouldn't put that past them, but don't they have to account somewhere for the total number of pardons given?

a commentator on MSNBC said the president does not need to publicly announce the names of those pardoned, and no one would ever know about them until they need one in court. I think he could pardon any number of individuals but not groups

No, such a party could not succeed. Trump has bigger problems anyway.

No, I tell you what's in store.

They will not break off from the Republican party. They will try to take it over.

They are already well on the way to turn the Republican Party into the party of hatred.

What's more likely is the ones who could not bring themselves to support Trump might break away and form the Lincoln Party. It would be a conservative party that values facts and morals. And because of that it would be doomed to have very low support.
