Bringing people -- especially girls and women -- out of poverty corresponds with much smaller family sizes, so perhaps capitalism is not inapposite to saving the planet...to a point.

After that, we need to rid ourselves of fossil fuels completely, re-wild our forests and oceans by having "no-fish" and "no-logging" zones, etc., and then there will be a bountiful earth for all for the foreseeable future. Provided we live sustainably.

Yes. The BIGGEST problem in my view. If the Shareholding Class can live in an 'Island Paradise', while the Worker Drones are piled on top of each other like in Bombay or Calcutta, why would they be opposed to their Income Source, millions of Consumers buying stuff.

It's why the Shareholding Class LOVES China ... 1.5 Billion Consumers.

Most sentient humans would at least consider the possibility of taking a risk to save an actual child from mortal danger.

No one - bible thumper or not - is risking anything to save a petri dish in a burning fertility clinic.
