Not that I have to point out your disingenuous posts -you already know this
The most plausible explanation is that Republicans instinctively believe all problems should be solved by the magic of the free markets.

Other nations believe in an interventionist government to address acute economic and social problems. Many other developed nation's governments likely expended more generous resources to support and maintain workers, small businesses, the macro economy.

They also had better COVID mitigation and adaptation plans than Trump

What has he accomplished? He is leaving America in much worse shape than when he started. On every level.

He did nothing. No health plan, a worse economy, an energy policy that took us backwards, the most divided country in decades, and a COVID vaccination plan that the new admin has to basically start from scratch.

    An utter failure.
EVEN WITH THE CHINACRAT/CHINESE BIO ATTACK, UNEMPLOYMENT WAS 6.7% ON JAN. 20, WHICH OMAMA/BIDEN NEVER REACHED ONCE IN THEIR FIRST TERM.....W/O A PANDEMIC.

    SOME "FAILURE".

The fact that your chart shows is that Australia was better able to keep their citizens working during the Covid crisis than the US was under Trump's leadership. Context is not restricted to your definition.

As to how Covid will affect the economy moving forward, we don't know for sure. It might be gone in a year or it might always be with us. Define "full recovery". It is as meaningless a term as full employment. At this point next year we will have more people employed than we do today. A year after that, barring some unforeseen circumstance we will have more people employed than the previous year. It's the way an economy works. It has ups and downs but the general direction is as long as the population grows the number of people employed will grow.

Today is January 20th 2021 For all of you Biden voters, I am making this post so it will show back up as a future memory on my timeline:
Today is 9 days after Biden electoral confirmation. Gas before the election was $1.95per gallon. Interest rates are 2.25 percent for a 30 year mortgage. The stock market closed at 30829.40 though we have been fighting COVID for 11 months. Our GDP growth for the 3rd Qtr was 33.1 percent. We had the best economy ever until COVID and it is recovering well. We have not had any new wars or conflicts in the last 4 years. North Korea has been under control and has not been testing any missiles. ISIS has not been heard from for over 3 years. The housing market is the strongest it has been in years. Homes have appreciated at an unbelievable rate and sell well. And let’s not forget that peace deals in the Middle East were signed by 4 countries—unprecedented!
Unemployment sits at 6.7% in spite of COVID.
#Biden takes over on 1-20-21. Let's see how fast he screws this up.

Trump is the first President since Herbert Hoover to finish his term with net job loss.

You have been lying about COVID since the start.

Every single fucking thing you ever posted about COVID was wrong, a lie, misinformation, or something much worse...

You are a habitual, compulsive liar, and you lie on JPP because you know there's no way to hold you to account for the lies you tell.

    What a little bitch.

Much of the government intervention costs could have been averted had the government simply recognized what was apparent to many of us, early on: lockdowns are incredibly costly both terms of social costs and economic costs; and have minimal efficacy vs transmission. What efficacy they do have, is mitigated by the fact the virus just returns and picks up where it left off after re-opening.

Recognizing that simple reality would have saved many billions if not trillions of dollars. But there was the massive transfer of wealth from the middle to Uber upper class to consider. Apparently, they got a taste of it decided there was work yet to be finished.

SILENCE! How dare you you remind them of that during one of their "two minutes hate" sessions?

    Sedition! Insurrection! Coup attempt! REEEEEEEEE!

Between March and April 2020, all DEMOCRAT governors issued stay-at-home orders in their states orders directing residents to stay at home and nonessential businesses to close in response to the coronavirus pandemic.

They got tired of admitting who was responsible for destroying the economy and people's jobs just in time for the coronation of the usurper, BTW.

Undocumented workers and illegal immigrants do not get counted in our unemployment statistics.
