Up until the mid to late 19th century, the Catholic Church was the main supporter of science and scientific research on the planet.

Acquiring knowlege of the natural world was considered a way to glorify God and understand his creation..

Catholic universities and Catholic scientists were on the forefront of scholarship and science for a thousand years.

Skeptical inquiry, scholarly reasearch, universities, resurrection of classical Greek logic and reason is directly attributable to Catholic Church.

The world is not black and white, and there was periodic conflict between natural philosophers and church officials. But the concept of a war between science and religion is a social construct which did not exist until the 19th century.

2 Now, brethren, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, we ask you, 2 not to be soon shaken in mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as if from us, as though the day of [a]Christ had come. 3 Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of [b]sin is revealed, the son of perdition, 4 who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits [c]as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.

dependant on your personal definition of "moral"......I expect it contains provisions condemning conservatives and demanding adherence to the SJW code of conduct.......

These Clowns were the first Book Burners. Knowledge from the Past was extinguished by these Idiots. The 'thousand years' you reference, is known as the Dark Ages. Any original thought was systematically crushed. Thanks to the Muslims in Spain, they left in their Libraries books from the Ancient World.

"During the Age of Enlightenment of the 17th and 18th centuries, many critical thinkers saw religion as antithetical to reason. For them the Middle Ages, or "Age of Faith", was therefore the opposite of the Age of Reason.[30] Baruch Spinoza, Bernard Fontenelle, Kant, Hume, Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Paine, Denis Diderot, Voltaire, Marquis De Sade and Rousseau were vocal in attacking the Middle Ages as a period of social regress dominated by religion, while Gibbon in The History of the Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire expressed contempt for the "rubbish of the Dark Ages".[31] "

Notice the names 'Thomas Jefferson' and 'Thomas Paine'.
