Psssst........ they arent just in DC. Many more have been quietly positioned across the country.

I am happiest about the 500 troops from Maryland that trump cannot get out of DC. They needed federal permission to cross state lines, but not to stay across state lines. They are under the authority of the Governor of Maryland.

The federal and DC troops will not join trump in a coup, but might not act without orders from the president, who is trump until noon on January 20th. Having some troops under another authority might be very, very important. Hopefully not, but it is good to have them there.

I know that National Guard troops under the command of Democratic Governors are moving into place around here. I hope the Republican Governors are doing the same.

I did not know that, good point. The difficulty always is what is bluster and what is actionable

Hopefully it is all bluster, and none of these troops are needed. trump may yet leave with a whimper, not a bang. I feel safer with some troops there just in case.

You lost the bet on the general election. You lost the bet on the state court cases. You lost the bet on the federal court cases. You lost the bet on the state certifications. You lost the bet on the legislators overturning the Elector slates. Then you lost the bet on how the Electors would vote. Then you lost the debate on how the Electors votes would be counted.

There are probably a few dozen bets in-between there that you also lost, but I forgot about. You are about to lose the bet on who will be inaugurated on January 20th.

You have an odd amount of confidence for someone who keeps losing. The regular army will not interfere in the election. It just will not happen.
