After all, trump and his fellow republicans, along with their Democratic cohorts are fierce advocates for America’s premier socialist program, Social Security, which is nothing more than a socialist program, no different than oof stamps and public housing. It uses government to take money from people to whom it belongs to give it to people to whom it does not belong. That’s classic socialism. In fact it embodies the Marxian principle “From each according to his ability, to each according to his need”

Perhaps it’s worth noting that the idea of Social Security originated among German Socialists in the latter part of the 1800’s
when the American progressive movement was striving to move America in a socialist direction.

That’s why the Social Security Administration has a bust of German Chancellor Otto Van Bismark on it’s website, having acquired the concept of Social Security from German Socialists, Bismark was the German leader who enacted it into law in Germany.

In the 1930’s, the Democratic presidential regime of FDR enacted Social Security into law in the United States.

Why don’t republicans like to hear this truth? Because they have convinced themselves that they are capitalists and democrats are socialists. But obviously the ardent support of Social Security by the right does not fit well within that scenario. Thus conservatives would rather pretend that it doesn’t exist. The reality is that they are just as socialist as the socialists they love to decry.

I think Red Team uses the word 'Socialist' to mean 'Atheist' and 'Big Government'. It's a Slogan or Bumper Sticker tag to label anyone/anything it's hurled at as 'BAD'.
I think it's lost all meaning in everyday conversation.

You should tell that to FDR and the history of the United States.
AMERICAN HISTORY ITSELF IS A TESTAMENT TO THE STRENGTH AND RESILIENCE OF AFRICAN PEOPLE. WE, ALONG WITH THE COURGE AND SACRIFICES OF CONSCIOUS WHITE AMERICANS, LIKE VIOLA LIUZZO, EVERETT DIRKSEN, AND MANY OTHERS, HAVE FOUGHT AND DIED TOGETHER FOR OUR FREEDOM, AND FOR OUR SURVIVAL.

In America, rights are are not determined by what is just, fair, equitable, honest, nor by what Jesus would do. Rights are determined ONLY by what you can DEMAND.

    Yeah, but the $1,400 + $600 = $2000 thing is pretty obnoxious.

Indeed it is, but it’s because we invest so much money in the military industrial complex and corporate welfare.

Biden seems to be doing the Obama thing of negotiating with himself before negotiating with Republicans.

And the thing is, we don't even need Republican support for the $2K checks. We already have the votes in the House and the Senate. So I say, screw Conservatives...shut them out of the process. That way, they can't take credit for the recovery, and can be labelled as those who opposed it.

While you allow a lot of thieves to get very rich and run everything you'll never have anything that isn't basically capitalism, obviously, but even the richest thieves need very large socialist elements just to keep any sort of society going for them to do more thieving in. It always makes me grin to hear extreme right 'libertarians' claim they can run capitalism without a powerful police state and a huge lie machine to keep the mugs quiet.

Government is socialism not any form of free market Capitalism in our mixed market economy where Congress Commands fiscal policy and the Fed Commands monetary policy. Right wingers merely prefer to appeal to ignorance and insist they are Right, simply because they are on the right wing.
