There would be a solid (R) majority in the Senate. The evangelicals would have been creaming themselves, the Reichwingers would have grilled some pork steaks knowing that their Fourth Reich was on its way, and of the 400,000 American citizens who died since this pandemic began -- thousands would still be alive to light up sparklers and bottle rockets to celebrate.

The problem with him accepting a pardon is that accepting it would imply that he believes he did something wrong to be pardoned for which will in turn give ammunition to anyone who might sue him.
