It wasn't an insurrection. It wasn't a mob. It wasn't a riot. Unless of course you want to now walk back your support for the BLM/Antifa violence and calls to defund the police.

...then any police officer who participated in the storming of the Capitol should be prosecuted along with all the others. With a high probability of losing their job.


If a police officer attended the rally but had no involvement in the occupation of the Capitol, then i don't (automatically) have an issue with it. It's their right to peacefully attend a protest. (Although if i were police chief where they are employed i would almost certainly sit them down for a conversation....just to make sure their head was in a good place.)

Whether the event qualified as an "insurrection" is worthy of debate. My leaning on that one is no. There may have been a few organized players in the mix, but the mass consisted more of over-hyped idiots who just got caught up in Trump's rhetoric and antics. (But i could be wrong....lots more details to come out as the FBI investigates the event.)

As the media liked to say while downplaying REAL rioting, looting and burning, the protests were mostly peaceful and harmless except for the four dead protestors killed by stampeding and shot by a cop.

Were any buildings burned?

Were any police cars torched?

Were any businesses looted and destroyed?

Were any monuments torn down or defaced?

There are investigations started surrounding the possibility that sitting members of the GOP were involved in an orchestrated attempt to overthrow the election process by coordinating with the rioters/traitors. If that proves out, it was indeed an insurrection.

They should have fought on the side of the politicians and saving the capitol. That would have been the right thing to do.
