Default A return to civility will not begin to quell the threat of fascism in the US

Fascism does not arrive on the scene with full uniform and programme. The Jewish socialist Arthur Rosenberg traced the origins of fascism as a mass movement to the period before the first world war, when millions were already infected by volkisch, racial-nationalist ideology, and by contempt for democratic government. It consolidates through experimentation, learning the ropes through episodes that, at first, appear amateurish and thuggish, from the beer hall (Munich) putsch to the demolition of the Babri Masjid. First as farce, then as tragedy.

It's true that the Democrats will still represent the greatest fascist threat to the country and world since Nazi Germany, yes.

    Democrats: More dangerous than Nazis
DemoKKKrats: The dangerous fascist psychopaths Orwell warned us about.

The Christian Nationalists have been at this a long time. It was the 'Moral Majority' not too long ago. They are in this for the long haul. 'Democracy' ... isn't one of their Goals.

I wouldn't say labeling a considerable segment of American citizens fascists is what one usually thinks of when recommending the return of civility

If someone robs a gas station, should we be nice and not call them criminals?

Get ready for the worst economy in generations as conservatives stop producing and stop paying taxes. Good luck with your social programs

Ninety nine point nine percent of the seventy plus Americans who voted for Trump didn't commit any criminal act, and I'd go out on a limb and say that the vast majority of them did not approve of the events of January 6th. Labeling the group "fascists" accomplishes little

I think we heard similar "warnings" when Clinton and Obama took office, and yet, even given the circumstances both inherited, especially Obama, both managed to leave behind progressing economies which incoming GOP Administrations managed to blow

Besides, according to all the conservative economists and Trump's own team, the economy would take the "V" route once the immediate dangers of Covid are behind us

Never said anything regarding Trump, just pointing out the inanity of labeling all Republicans "fascists," it's similar to one calling all Democrats commies
