Default Silencing People Is What Parler Does

Parler reportedly removed posts by Trump affiliate Lin Wood calling for execution of VP Mike Pence

"It seems that even the “free speech” social network Parler has its limits.

"The social network that has attracted scores of conservative commentators because of its commitment to free speech has taken down several posts from Trump affiliate Lin Wood, according to a report in Mediaite.

"In one of the posts removed from the social media platform, Wood called for the execution of Vice President Mike Pence "

Right-wingers don't seem to understand that, while the internet is "free," it doesn't mean we have the right to free speech on a website someone else hosts. We are definitely free to start our own website and post whatever we want, but if I own a platform and someone else wants to post on it, it's also my right to censor that person. To accuse Twitter or Google of "censoring" is like trying to post a political bumper sticker on your neighbor's car and then accusing him of "censorship" when he removes it.

The only thing to add to this post is this: You can start your own website, but if the company that hosts it finds your content violates its terms of service, it can pull your plug.

Isn't it interesting that the only time the Reichwing cries about freedom of speech and censorship is when someone won't let them use their services to spread hate, lies, and violence?

an explicit or implicit encouragement to use violence, or to commit a lawless action, such that: (a) the Parleyer intends his or her speech to result in the use of violence or lawless action, and (b) the imminent use of violence or lawless action is the likely result of the parley, comment, or message."

Great point. It would be fertile hunting ground.

That's what makes the hysteria so confusing. Everyone who uses social media understands the rules that must be followed. Suddenly, they're upset over 'censoring'?
