Default America’s Vaccine Rollout Is Already a Disaster

    Thanks Trump.

    It’s happening all over again.

For months, Americans who despaired about the country’s coronavirus-suppression efforts looked desperately to the arrival of a vaccine for a kind of pandemic deliverance. Now that it has arrived, miraculously fast, we are failing utterly to administer it with anything like the urgency the pace of dying requires — and, perhaps most maddeningly, failing in precisely the same way as we did earlier in the year. That is, out of apparent, near-total indifference.

And Trump is doing his usual "blame everyone else" routine.

It's embarrassing. Worst possible leader for a pandemic.

    My philosophy of governance:

If you want the federal government to effectively address a national pandemic, do not put people who hate government and hate government employees in charge of the government.

Funny, the hospital my GF works at gave all their staff and emergency first responders the first round of the vaccine.
My GF gets her 2 shot next week and everything is on schedule. Thanks Trump (if it's you who is to blame).
Common sense is not a gift, it's a punishment because you have to deal with everyone who doesn't have it.

People are getting vaccinated. No one is arguing otherwise.

But not ENOUGH people are getting vaccinated, quickly enough. At the current rate, it would be many years before we can achieve herd immunity.

    Right now, they're failing.

You obviously don't know shit about production, packaging, storage (for), shipping or distribution.

I don't need to. The people in charge need to.

The fact remains: at the current pace, it will be 10 years before herd immunity.

    They are failing.

Republican Senator Mitt Romney says the federal government has not developed a comprehensive plan to help the states. I guess they are leaving it up to the Biden administration to develop an adequate national plan.

On Friday, Sen. Mitt Romney (R., Utah) criticized the vaccine rollout, saying in a statement that the lack of a comprehensive federal plan to be shared with states “is as incomprehensible as it is inexcusable.”

You should learn and come up with a solution before you make senseless accusations.

    Your estimation reeks of absurdity.

It doesn't take a magic wand. There is no point in rushing the development of a vaccine if you don't have concrete plans on getting it out to the population quickly.

Again: at the current pace, it will take close to 10 years to achieve herd immunity. It's pointless. They need to figure it out, and figure it out quickly.

What does that have to do with my post? Every one of those I mentioned has much to do with the ultimate of delivery.
The hospital my GF works at bought special freezers for their shipments when they applied for their requested allotment.
That is probably why you didn't respond to my post #7. Why does the government have to come up with a plan when a
small town hospital is having no problems? Maybe it's the state's governments who are screwing up?
