As long as you plead not to wear a mask while driving. They'll put you in a separate cell.

I doubt it but if I were a police officer, just as I am, amazed at the number of people wearing mask in their vehicle, all by themselves, then wonder why?

Must be about 2 dozen in the past week, that I saw, WTF are these people thinking?

It doesn't address my OP, but yes I agree with you. What were they thinking? Wearing masks while driving doesn't affect anything.

I'll clarify my OP up a bit.

Biden's quote has been pasted over and over again here. Executive order about the interstate.

    What, exactly, does that mean?

The states own the highways. So he has no authority.

Even if he has an authority, the courts will block him anyways.

Maybe he meant the public transportations?

First, I couldn't get the link, IDK why.

    From possibly, another source.

"Biden said, “[W]here the federal government has authority, I’m going to issue a standing order that in federal buildings, you have to be masked. In transportation — interstate transportation, you must be masked, in airplanes and buses, etc.

Where he has the authority, feds board buses all the time and they are on airplanes.

So he has no authority for citizens being without masks.

Private transport companies might have their own rules.

That's exactly what I am saying. No clue why the other guy is worried.

Even if Biden means what that other guy says he mean, he still doesn't have the authority.

The word "interstate" can mean anything. The fact remains is that the states own their highways.

While on that one, FAA (and what else whoever knows what else a federal transportation is) already has a rule about it. So basically nothing will change.

Yes, they do but interstate means exactly that, transport between states, if you kidnap someone, bring them across state lines, they can bring federal charges. drugs, same thing.
    wire fraud, same thing, etc.

So in instances like those, he DOES have the authority, so why not mask?

There's a federal court house in every state.

Like I stated earlier, private companies already mandate that, SO...................Nothing will change.

That's an interesting point. The courts will block that anyway. But it's still an interesting point.

Does the same point apply to the seatbelt laws?

seatbelt laws are passe now that there are airbags. since seatbelts affect no one but whoever does or does not use them, i never thought the state had the right to force anybody to wear one in the first place.

"Forcing" is the question here. Sometimes when I get a speed ticket, a judge would just chuckle and dismiss it.
