Probably Kamala on the Dem side. Even if you want to pretend Biden isn't suffering some kind of cognitive decline, he'll be 81 in 2024. It wouldn't be surprising at all if he stepped down, voluntarily or otherwise. There aren't too many others the party would want to put in that spot. Maybe Klobaucher or however you spell it. For the Republicans.... probably Romney and maybe Meghan McCain, put those "maverick" names on the same ticket (I know Meghan isn't elected, it's just for name recognition and party favor). Rand Paul will have a go at it in the primary and lose, he's their Bernie Sanders (though with more cache). Trump might try and run as a 3rd Party candidate but that won't go anywhere substantial.

Biden isn't suffering a decline in any amount that any healthy person of his age suffers. I agree he won't go for a second term.
He himself already said he was a "placeholder" potus. I agree, as Ford was for Nixon. Sort of, OK, let's catch our collective breath

Biden will probably run for reelection. trump is less healthy, so it is in doubt whether he will be able to run in 2024. If he survives, he will try to get the nomination. he is very popular among the Republicans that vote in primaries, so would probably get it. It could end up being a rematch between Biden and trump. trump can lose again.

If trump does not survive, then Republicans will pick someone strange. I cannot even guess who.
