The dirty little secret of Christmas is it is a total fake date. The Bible says that the shepherds were moving between the Winter and Summer grazing. It is not exactly clear which direction they were moving, but that would make it either Spring or Fall, but definitely not December. We are all just celebrating a fake holiday to take the place of Winter Solstice... Everyone except the Druids who just call a Winter Solstice a Winter Solstice.
