It's the flotsam and jetsam that cause all the problems.
That you were / are stuck working as a "laborer" for people like me (and, yes I do hire day labor fairly regularly), you get a fair in cash wage for you labor but without me directing the job, planning the work, paying for the materials, doing all the administrative and liaison work involved, and solving problems as they arise, you wouldn't get paid at all. I can do your job but choose to hire and pay you to do it. You can't do mine and that's why I make more.
You are in no way "deserving of another $1200.00 stimulus check" any more than you were of the first one. No one "deserves" welfare or a handout. You might be legally entitled to it, but deserving of it? No.
Also, I'm not in favor of cheap Mexican labor for the most part, particularly in the trades. I see the sort of half assed work they do regularly and have to fix it. Why should someone have to pay twice to get things done right?
The reasons manufacturing jobs are going to China are numerous from lower pay to workers, less regulation, less taxes, and a whole plethora of other things. Manufacturing is fleeing California as fast as it can for elsewhere because of this. One of the worst things is nitpicking, meaningless, useless regulations that burden a business. In many larger cities this has become a revenue generator for both predatory law firms and government. If that weren't the case, and government acted in the best interests of society as a whole, maybe those jobs wouldn't flee for friendlier locales.
As for college... In my case the undergraduate degrees helped some, but not nearly as much as going through Nuclear Power training in the Navy. Yea, the GI bill made paying for college easy so I had no debt. That was a contractual benefit of military service, not something just handed to me for "free."
I can't change that you live in your parent's basement, or in a tent under a bridge using a computer at the nearest public library. That's on you and nobody else. That you hate society because you screwed your life up is not my, or anyone else's problem. It's yours, deal with it and stop blaming others.
Oh, I'll add this... Thursday I went to Scottsdale to do a bunch of electrical work on a house about a mile from Taliesin West, Frank Lloyd Wright's architectural college he started. The people in that house are long-term leasers / renters. I got the snob treatment from them as if I was nothing but low life help. I fixed everything up to code as required but told the GC I'm doing that stuff for if I have to go back there it's full price, not the "beer money" price I usually charge these days. That means $50 an hour + $20 per helper, and a 30% mark up on all materials. I get treated better in the barrio or ghetto. At least those people are appreciative I show up and fix their problems right.
The Black guy and his Hispanic wife in a shitbag apartment next to the railroad tracks and a warehouse district were thrilled that I came on short notice to restore their power the day before Thanksgiving without complaint so they could cook their meal. I think their two kids were too. I don't have to do any of that, but it keeps me active. So, take your tirade and shove it up your ass sideways.
