Do you have an argument to offer? I am in no knot. Rowling is.

I think the reaction to Yglesias is complete bullshit. He was not threatening anyone. Claiming it made you feel unsafe is just all part of this "micro aggression" bullshit which attempts to rationalize actual aggression.

But everyone has the right to talk about Rowling or criticize her. That's free speech. Being a tea sipping twerp you would not really understand.

Anyone who thinks Trump's threats against twitter over trending #DiaperDon is fine and then whines about cancel culture, is obviously just some fucking Nazi. You should be free to say what you want but not without being subject to the critical free speech of others who don't like what you say.

Twitter amplifies these "negative reviews" on people's character, but the majority of people tend to not give a shit unless it's Weinstein or Cosby levels of shitty behavior.
I am much more bothered by it when it hits regular folks, like Emmanuel Cafferty, when there is no sense of due process.

Louis CK did act a bit creepy. What I have heard, was not criminal, but whatever. people are free not to want to hear his comedy anymore and to vote with their wallets against him.

Name some celebrities that have been "cancelled."

Just the fact that Mel Gibson and Mike Tyson still have careers, should prove that cancel culture isn't real.

    .

Love this one, the wokerati are truly beyond parody.

Now Star Wars fans want to apply 'woke' values to the series? From the the Telegraph. Cancel culture at it's most obviously crass and bigoted.

"There has been a disturbance in the Force – as if millions of voices suddenly cried out in terror. Yes, Star Wars fans are angry again and have been channelling their fury into a ritual as ancient as the foundation stones of the Jedi Temple at Ahch-To. They’ve been venting on Twitter.

The subject of their ire on this occasion is Mandalorian star Gina Carano, whom many Star Wars diehards want fired. To their dismay, Gina Carano has been tweeting messages widely interpreted as anti-face-mask, and supportive of Donald Trump’s claim that the US presidential election was blighted by voter fraud.

“Democratic government leaders now recommends [sic] we all wear blindfolds along with masks so we can't see what's really going on,” she tweeted on November 14. Twenty four hours later, with her Twitter mentions having turned into a replay of the Battle of Hoth, she appeared to double down by adding, “In a world where everyone wears a mask, it’s a privilege to see a soul.”

I think Fascists should be cancelled. People being cancelled isn't always a bad thing. I'm glad Bill Cosby was cancelled when we found out that he's a serial rapist.
However, celebrities are VERY rarely cancelled. So the idea of "cancel culture" is nonsensical. Mike Tyson is literally a convicted rapist and the public still loves him. Mel Gibson told his wife "if you get raped by a pack of niggers, it'll be your own fault" and he's still making movies.
