Default Case worker ID'd after being fatally stabbed by resident at Belltown apartment buildi

SEATTLE — A man accused of stabbing a woman to death Monday morning at an apartment building in Seattle's Belltown area waived his right Tuesday to appear in court as prosecutors laid out some details of what happened during the violent attack.

Hans Dewey Van-Belkum, 58, remained at the King County Jail without bond on Tuesday in connection with the slaying of Kristin Benson, who worked as a housing case manager for the company that managed the building. The suspect is expected to return Wednesday to court, where he could be formally arraigned.

Officers and medics responded to the Scargo-Lewiston apartment building near 1st Avenue and Blanchard Street, at about 10:45 a.m. Monday after receiving reports of a stabbing at the residential mid-rise, which houses people who were formerly homeless......

Well they should have sent a cop instead of a caseworker . Maybe they should not have decreased the police funding.

Stupid to work as a case worker in that shithole.
Stupid to work as a cop in that shithole with their mayor and city council. Then again, it's an easy job. Cops aren't even allowed to do their job.

    Dear Red-State Trump Voter,
Let’s face it, guys: We’re done.

It is a tragedy that so much of the work that so many men and women toiled at for so long to make this a better country, and a better world, has been thrown away, leaving us all in such needless peril.

This is why our separation in all but name is necessary.

Well I'll tell you but try to read it slowly out loud so you can understand. They want to defund the police and spend the funds on social workers so they can take care of psych cases like this one. This case worker could not handle the armed psych patient and got killed. An armed police officer would have handled the situation differently and probably would not have been killed. Now promise me you will read it out loud very slowly.

Do they have Mental Health hospitals in Washington?

We had them for 100+ years or so and then all of a sudden they shut them all down. No other countries did, just the US.

Something about "One flew over the Cuckoo's nest".

No other countries shut Mental Hospitals down. This is where you put the crazies.

I know what happened, it involves Big Pharma and failed "chemical restraints" promises.

Yeah, that is not working. Let's go back to what worked, pls.

What's his face in Broward County, the mass shooter..he should have been in Chattahoochee.

She worked for the property and was not called in INSTEAD of the police. Use some common sense here despite the fact that you want to spin it. Jeez!

She was a case manager. This is one of their qualifications : Education: BA/BS degree in a human service field. That is a social worker. She couldn't handle the situation an armed cop would have had a better chance. The housing facility specializes in the mentality ill and the homeless.
